Great plains [streaming video] / a BBC/Discovery Channel/NHK co-production ; BBC Education & Training.
Looks at the vast open grasslands of African savannah, Asian steppe, Arctic tundra and North American prairie, which cover more than a quarter of the land on earth. Captures on film for the first time the shy Mongolian gazelle in its annual migration, as well as the bizarre-looking Tibetan fox. Over six weeks the team follows a pride of 30 lions as they attempt to hunt elephants, and films the chaotic nighttime battles that ensue at close quarters.
