Summary: The Arctic and Antarctic experience the most extreme seasons on Earth. This program looks at wildlife that survive and thrive in these regions. It reveals new science about the dynamics of emperor penguin behaviour in Antarctica. In the north, unique aerial images show a polar bear swimming more than 100km, and diving for up to two minutes at a time, and later attacking a herd of walruses. Among other animals, also features humpback whales.
