Summary: Using a combination of dramatic reconstruction, photography, and Schama's narration, this program looks at the intense, troubled life, thoughts and works of Vincent Van Gogh. Paintings looked at include: early sketches and paintings (including self-portraits), The Potato Eaters, A Pair of Shoes, Two Cut Sunflowers, Sower with Setting Sun, The Night Cafe, and at the end, a close examination of Wheat Field with Crows.
