Summary: This document provides an indepentdent assessment of the adequacy of BC Hydro's fish mercury database as reported by Watson. The objective of our review was to determine, based on fish species, sample size, data quality, and analytical protocols used, the amenability of the existing data to make statements regarding the status of mercury concentrations in fish in BC reservoirs and lakes, and possible historic trends in mercury concentration.
